Do I have to pay a deposit payment in advance of obtaining the offer documents?

Please note, some institutes only give conditional offer at the first step. It means even your application accepted your seat on the course not sure until your deposit arrive in the institution’s account. You always have to send your deposit directly to the university. If your application accepted, the university will provide all the details about the payment with the offer letter. (*)

This is significantly helping your application for our partner institutes and for your visa application. It shows a sign of commitment that you intend to follow at a UK education institution. All deposit payments will be deducted from your tuition fees upon arrival and enrollment to your UK institution.

What does it cost to study in the UK?

This depends on the institute, course, study level (undergraduate or postgraduate) and city you intend to stay. Course fee’s will be discussed when you get in touch with our advisors, when you come to apply. You always can find up-to-date information on the British Council website.

What documents are required in applying for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in UK? What is normally included in application documents?

How long does it take to get feedback from the university after the application has been submitted?

It depends on the university. Normally it takes 4 weeks but sometimes it can take longer time.

In applying, what English tests are required?

IELTS and TOEFL both acceptable, but for UK, IELTS preferred.

What should we do if we want to stay in a university/student accommodation?

We will contact the institution and give you a feedback or their contact persons details who can help you.

Where can I find information about scholarships?

Please note scholarships only available for Postgraduate students in the UK.

Can I pay my tuition fees by installments?

Most of the institutions in UK accept payments by installments. How many installments do depends on the particular institution. Few institutions offer discounts if the student or his sponsor pays the whole tuition fee in advance of enrollment. For more details, please contact with your Milestone Educational Advisor.

Are there any counselling fees or service charges?

No.

What are Milestone Educational Advisor services?

Are students allowed to work while studying (UK)?

International students are allowed to work, but no longer than 20 hours per week. During the summer and other school holidays students allowed to work full-time (40 hours per week).

Post study work possibilites:

After completed Bachelor or postgraduate (MA, MBA etc) course, student can apply 1-2 year full time work permit. More information UK Border Agency website.

Why do I need to take IELTS? Moreover, what is the minimum requirement?

Your IELTS score will show the university your level of English language speaking and comprehension. The minimum requirements vary depending upon the institution and the course.

(For example, Newcastle College requires for its Masters and MBA courses 6.0 score, for undergraduate course 5.5.)

If I do not yet have the IELTS results or if the result does not meet the university's requirement, can I still apply for the Postgraduate program?

Universities are accepting applications without IELTS result. On the other hand, students probably will receive their offer conditioned on successful IELTS result.

If the IELTS result were below the universities exception, the students would be ask to attend additional English classes before the course start. The length of the course depend on the English level of the student. Students have to pass this English course before final acceptance of any of the postgraduate courses.

Do I have to take the IELTS test again after I have completed the universities English courses?

It depends on the institution, some universities request students to sit for the test. The student have to make sure before accepting the offer or alternatively please contact us and we will try to find out for you.

In addition, once you have arrived, you could also contact the International Office at each university for further advice on your study, accommodation, or a personal problem. The International Office will be of great assistance to you while you are there.

When does the academic year begin (UK)?

The regular intake begins at September. There are programmes what would start January and June (Postgraduate courses for instance). Please contact us for more information about the particular institution or course you interested.

Students are advised to plan 4-6 months before the academic year begins. It takes time from university application until Visa arrangement. In addition, some universities accept limited number of application.

Is health check-up required in applying for a student visa and before the flight?

There is a requirement for Tuberculosis testing for student studying the UK for longer than 6 months.

In applying for MBA in UK, is GMAT required by the universities?

In the UK, most universities do not require GMAT.

Will the institutions offer an airport pick up?

Some universities offer airport pick-up service while some suggest ways to find means of transportation from the point of entry. Your Milestone advisor will help arrange this for you.

When is the last day to submit the applications?

In general, for UK there is no specific closing date in submitting applications. The best way is if you check with your counsellor. Our advice is submitting your application as early as you can. In this way you have a better chance to get a place in your desired course and wider choice of accommodation also.
