Our at-a-glance guide to UHI Millennium Institute

UHI Millennium Institute (UHI) is the only higher education institution based in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, covering 15 sites as far away from each other as Shetland, Lewis, Argyll and Perth. As well as more general vocational courses, such as computing and business studies, UHI offers degrees that reflect the industries and culture of the region, such as aircraft engineering, engineering with renewable energy studies, culture studies of the Highlands and Islands, Gaelic music and culture, marine science, sustainable forestry … and, for outdoors types, adventure tourism management and golf management.

Fees
£1,820 for new students in 2010-11. Scottish students have their fees paid for them.

Bursaries
There is a young person's bursary for eligible Scottish students, and further financial support available.

Accommodation
There is a wide variety of accommodation available at the 15 sites. Some have halls and others will assist you in finding private accommodation. Prices vary.

Facilities
Vary according to where you study. UHI is good at off-campus delivery.

Transport
Depends on where you are, of course, but plan seven hours for the train to London; fewer by air. All campuses are easily accessible by bus.
