Our at-a-glance guide to Thames Valley University Thames Valley University has successfully re-invented itself by improving facilities, providing high-quality teaching and producing flexible education for its students. Between January 2009 and January 2010, TVU saw the highest increase in applications of any higher education institution in the UK, and received the prestigious Queen's anniversary prize for further and higher education. Programmes of study include psychology, law, accounting and finance, music, photography and media, enterprise and entrepreneurship, and tourism, hospitality and leisure. TVU's lively student union runs social events all year and has a range of clubs including the basketball society, which has members that play professionally for the British team. There is a large, mixed student body, with lots of mature, part-time and ethnic minority students. The main Ealing campus in west London is moments away from beautiful landscaped parks with restaurants, pubs and shopping on the doorstep and vibrant central London only a short tube ride away. TVU also has campuses in Brentford in west London and Reading.
