| University guide: The Courtauld Institute of Art |
|
Our at-a-glance guide to the Courtauld Institute of Art As far as undergraduates go, the Courtauld is a one-trick pony: the only BA course it offers is history of art. But what a trick! The Courtauld is one of Britain's most famous galleries and art institutes, and the 400 students (of whom undergraduates make up about a third) have unrivalled access to it. The spectacular location at Somerset House means that all of London's resources are on your doorstep. The emphasis is on small-group teaching, and the institute prides itself on its friendly feel and academic excellence. Degrees are awarded by the University of London, so you have access to the main university library at Senate House.
