Our at-a glance guide to the University of Glamorgan

The University of Glamorgan boasts three modern campuses, two in Treforest near the town of Pontypridd and a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Cardiff city centre. Glamorgan is committed to innovation in teaching and learning, and to equipping students with the skills they will need for their chosen careers. The university attracts more than 22,000 students across its campuses and is known for its friendly community atmosphere. Impressively, there has been more than a 30% increase in applications over the last two years. Glamorgan's status as one of Wales's research-active universities was confirmed by its excellent results for the quality of its research in the 2008 research assessment exercise.

Fees
£3,290 for full-time undergraduates in 2010-11. Wales and EU (non-UK) students are eligible for a means-tested maintenance grant of up to £5,000 a year from the Welsh assembly government.

Bursaries
For 2010 entry:
Stem excellence award for UK and EU students studying selected full-time undergraduate degree courses within the areas of science, technology, engineering or mathematics, worth £4,500 over three years.

The vice-chancellor's award for endeavour, worth £2,500, which recognises truly exceptional students who demonstrate significant personal achievement.

Other subject specific and sports scholarships are also available.

Accommodation
Weekly rent for self-catering accommodation is about £82. Private halls of residence available at the Cardiff campus.

Facilities
Good IT facilities and sports facilities that are some of the best in the country (used by international rugby and football teams for training).

£130m is currently being invested, including a new student union building and student accommodation. The Cardiff campus is a £35m development that opened in 2007 and is home to the Cardiff school of creative and cultural industries. In 2009, the university opened brand new facilities for its faculty of health, sport and science, and is currently developing a £3m sports facility as well as an on-campus aircraft hangar complete with its own aircraft.

Transport
Pontypridd campuses: on the M4 corridor, and 20 minutes by train or car to Cardiff.

The Atrium campus is in Cardiff city centre.
