Our at-a glance guide to the University of Glamorgan The University of Glamorgan boasts three modern campuses, two in Treforest near the town of Pontypridd and a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Cardiff city centre. Glamorgan is committed to innovation in teaching and learning, and to equipping students with the skills they will need for their chosen careers. The university attracts more than 22,000 students across its campuses and is known for its friendly community atmosphere. Impressively, there has been more than a 30% increase in applications over the last two years. Glamorgan's status as one of Wales's research-active universities was confirmed by its excellent results for the quality of its research in the 2008 research assessment exercise. Fees Bursaries The vice-chancellor's award for endeavour, worth £2,500, which recognises truly exceptional students who demonstrate significant personal achievement. Other subject specific and sports scholarships are also available. Accommodation Facilities £130m is currently being invested, including a new student union building and student accommodation. The Cardiff campus is a £35m development that opened in 2007 and is home to the Cardiff school of creative and cultural industries. In 2009, the university opened brand new facilities for its faculty of health, sport and science, and is currently developing a £3m sports facility as well as an on-campus aircraft hangar complete with its own aircraft.
