|
Our at-a-glance guide to the University of Central Lancashire Uclan is one of the country's largest universities, with 32,000 students, and it aims to provide an excellent experience for every single one of them. It seems to be working as it was rated the top modern university in the country in the latest student experience survey, while 11 areas were rated as world-leading in the latest research assessment exercise. One hundred and twenty million pounds is currently being invested in new facilities; £17m on the Sir Tom Finney sports centre and £12.5m on the new forensic science building. All courses have an employability strand, and there are some interesting ones to choose from: how about the UK's first foundation degree in nuclear decommissioning, taught on the doorstep of Sellafield power station?
